Welcome to the Embedded Masterclass 2009 - May 7th and 12th - Cambridge and Bristol

Over the past 9 years, the Embedded Masterclass has established itself as an important UK event for engineers looking to explore the most recent tools and technologies for the development of embedded systems.

Whether you're an electronics engineer, an embedded computing engineer, a designer or a project manager, the Embedded Masterclass will give you the chance to meet with embedded systems engineers from many of the world's leading vendors. The Embedded Masterclass is recognised for the quality of its presentations and workshops, which are technical in content and presented by engineers, for engineers.

"Thanks to everyone that helped make this event another great success. We'll be planning the next event for May 2010, so let us know if you would like to be kept up to date on progress."

" Generally excellent "

About the Embedded Masterclass...
The object of the Embedded Masterclass has always been to provide a 'non-sales' forum where embedded systems engineers can come along and meet a broad range of industry experts from key vendors and learn about what is happening at the leading edge of embedded microprocessor, DSP and FPGA technology.

What makes it special...
The Embedded Masterclass presentations are technical presentations. So don't expect to endure endless sales pitches about market share, time to market or number of employees. The presentations will be about the technology - information you can use to help you make future development decisions.

Who will be there...
We try to bring together a range of vendors who are actively supplying the embedded systems market. More importantly, we ask them to send their engineers rather than their sales people, so that you can experience real demonstrations of their embedded technology and get technical answers to your questions.

Momentum is growing ahead of June's annual Code Generation conference in
Cambridge. The conference is Europe's leading practitioner event onModel-Driven Software Development.

This year's conference has attracted an international line-up of recognised speakers in the field including Markus Völter, Steven Kelly, Kathleen Dollard, Stuart Kent, Andrew Watson and Jos Warmer. Despite the current economic downturn, the focus of the event on practical applications and the strong peer networking element also ensure that
participants continue to the event come from around the world.

Mark Dalgarno, of Cambridge-based organisers Software Acumen, says "I'd personally been to many conferences in the past where I could have learned everything from the conference proceedings so we were determined to make this event different. Our focus for the event has always been on disseminating best practice of what is currently practically achievable, this is done partly through our formal programme of hands-on, case study and tutorial sessions but also through a strong informal programme element where participants can meet with others with
similar concerns and interests."

This year's conference runs from June 16th-18th 2009 at Murray Edwards college in Cambridge and places are available for 1, 2 or 3 day participation. Discounts are available for membership of a wide variety of partner organisations including Cambridge Wireless, BCS SPA, ACCU,OMG, IASA.

Visit the Code Generation 2009 http://www.codegeneration.net/cg2009/ web site for the full event programme and to book your place.

The Embedded Masterclass has been run in association with MicroTechnology Europe

Today, more engineers are working with the C/C++ language and development companies face the challenge of converting older systems over to the more modern C/C++ code based software. More...

Choosing A Linux for the Development of Intelligent Devices

A key presentation at this year's embedded systems developers' event, the Embedded Masterclass, will explore the use of the Linux operating system for embedded systems and realtime computer systems. The Embedded Masterclass is to be held in Cambridge and Bristol on the 7th and 12th May.

Over the past 10 years, various commercial Embedded Linux solutions have evolved. Several are now highly refined operating systems that not only exhibit robust real-time performance but can also address the needs of mobile wireless devices. Whether to 'roll your own' Linux OS or buy off the shelf remains a common question in todays embedded space. This presentation will lift the lid off of commercial Linux and show engineers what is inside the very latest offering and why a commercial solution might offer both engineering and commercial benefits to your next project.
