More Info.... A Chance to meet experts in the embedded engineering field and experts in mobile technology..

The motivation behind the "Embedded Masterclass" series of seminars is to enable embedded engineers and vendors of embedded technology to come together to share information in a none sales environment. All presentations are of a technical nature, offering engineers a real chance to learn of new silicon, tools and software and the chance to be aware of trends and innovation in embedded technology.

Although this seminar has a medical focus, much of the technology will be a applicable to a wide range of electronic industries and all embedded engineers are welcome to come along.

A Wealth of Valuable Information and Technology...

Although this seminar will be mainly focused on the agenda of presentations, there will be a broad range of industry vendors and experts available to you. A chance to explore their technology and discuss the current thinking behind the newer silicon, tools and software. Below is an overview of some of the companies/people who will be at this event.

Enea Embedded Technology are the developers of the OSE Realtime Operating System (RTOS). The OSE RTOS supports both CPU and DSP and has also been especially developed to enable the development of high performance, power efficient mobilephones. OSE is used in many hundreds of million mobile phones worldwide and is the foundation of many of the very latest mobilephone developments.

Mat Stevenson will be representing Enea and will give a presentation discussing benefits that using an RTOS can bring to embedded development and the importance of RTOS "Architecture" when choosing an RTOS for mobile phone development. Enea will also be available to discuss your technical issues and will be demonstrating their latest RTOS technology and tools on a CPU/DSP platform.

Lauterbach is a leading supplier of debug tools with well over 40,000 systems in the field supporting all the main embedded processor types. Their tools are used by the major companies in all market segments including mobile phones, automotive, medical and telecoms.

In the medical area customers are using their tools to debug processors as diverse as 68000, the SH series, MIPS and more recently a growing percentage of ARM based designs.
Lauterbach will be running a demonstration with a live and interactive multicore debug session on a TI OMAP 2420 processor. Each core will have its own debug session running giving either cross-linked or independent control combined with an ETM trace from the ARM1136. We will also be demonstrating how our analysis of the embedded trace records can provide an interactive cache analysis. You alter the cache structure, rerun the analysis and compare the new performance figures to arrive at the optimum configuration for your code.

IPL's testing tools have been at the forefront of software verification since their introduction in early 1990's. Their use has featured in many high profile projects ranging from telecommunications, medical instruments, air-traffic control, avionics, rail transport, automotive, space, defence, nuclear energy, financial and digital broadcast systems.

The common factor in all of these areas is the imperative to produce software which reliably "does what it should do", in a cost-effective manner. Cantata++ has been designed around the requirements of the C/C++ languages to produce a tool which allows developers to efficiently perform unit and integration testing. The product offers high productivity and a unique set of testing, coverage analysis and static analysis features.
